About Me

My photo

I am a very lucky woman with a husband and son who are smart, witty and entertaining. Our son, B, attended public school for two years, and then we embarked on a new adventure in the Fall of 2010 - homeschooling. We don't have all the answers, but we know B and this has been the best thing for him. I blog to preserve our stories and our memories, share recipes, vent and ramble on about our crazy, yet blessed, life. Would you care to follow along?

My Favorite Things

Move over, Oprah....

The More Time Mom's Family Organizer - Best. Calendar. Ever.  The pages are card stock, not that shiny photo paper, so they are easy to write on and erase.  Each date has a large square with lines and plenty of room in which to neatly write.  It is a 16-month calendar so you can have the entire school year in one calendar if you so need.  A pocket in the back to hold important papers (I keep invitations in there b/c I always lose them otherwise) and stickers to mark dates, if you need/want to use them.

Between The Sheets by Slumber Parties - in addition to the uses listed on the SP website, it is great for chub-rub and preventing under boob sweating!

Redbox and Netflix

Two products from Shaklee - Basic H2 Super Cleaning Concentrate and Scour Off Heavy Duty Paste.  I use the H2 Concentrate to make a bottle of window cleaner, a bottle of general cleaner and a bottle of degreaser.

Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express Mascara - it smells like roses!  I kid you not!  Although, I have a supersonic nose, so the average person may not be able to detect it...

The ability to reserve books, audio books and movies online at my local library.

Cushiony floor mats in the kitchen.  Everyone should have 3 in their kitchen - 1 in front of your sink, 1 in front of your stove and 1 in front of the countertop where you do all your food prep.

Pentel RSVP pens in fine point, blue.  Been my favorite pen for 20 years.

Paperbackswap.com  - you mail paperback books you own to people who want to read them and pay the media mail rate (I've never spent more that $2.38 to send a book).  When you want to read a book, someone sends it to you for free!

Silicone baking mats to line cookie sheets.

A Garlic Press

Neutrogena Hand Cream - the only product I've found that moisturizes my hands in Fall and Winter as well as the rest of the year since my hands are constantly being washed!  I only wish they put it in bigger bottles so I could keep a pump on every sink in the house.

Kitchen Basics Unsalted Stocks -  very flavorful!

Tupperware's Vent 'n Serve Microwave Containers - the only containers we use in the microwave.  They are awesome!  You can cook in them or just heat stuff up.
